CAVA to perform at Latino Heritage

Latino Heritage brings CAVA to the stage on October 6, 2012 at the annual jamaica at La Pintoresca Park in Pasadena. CAVA is a remarkably talented and versatile performer with a magnetic stage presence. CAVA introduces a new configuration of Latin powered jazz with a tinge of Peruvian soul weaving in and out of Cumbia, Salsa, Afro-Cuban Son and Ska beats.

CAVA will be joined on stage by Martha Gonzalez and Quetzal Flores of Quetzal, the acclaimed musical group.

The annual Latino Heritage jamaica follows the parade at 12 noon at La Pintoresca Park in Pasadena. CAVA is scheduled to be on stage at 2:30 p.m.

Fun activities for the family are being planned for the Latino Heritage jamaica on Saturday, October 6. Kathee Bautista, chair of the Educational Committee, and her team are bringing a variety of activities, crafts and games.

Children and adults can enjoy making crafts for:

Parade Entries Mandatory Meeting

A mandatory meeting is being called by the Latino Heritage Parade Committee for groups participating in the Latino Heritage Parade on Saturday, October 6. The parade rules and schedule will be reviewed.

Each group is to send one representative to receive the parade materials. Please take this opportunity to ask questions in person.

Senior Queen and Court Selection

Villa-Parke Community Center invites you to participate in a contest to select the Senior Queen of Fiestas Patrias 2012 and her Court. The crowning and recognition will take place during the Fiestas Patrias Celebration, Saturday, September 15, 2012 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Seniors throughout the city of Pasadena and Altadena are encouraged to participate. Applications available at Villa-Parke Community Center, 363 E. Villa St., Pasadena, CA 91101.

Guidelines:

Seniors 55+ years of age living in Pasadena and Altadena.
Short essay telling us more about themselves.
Must participate in two interviews.
Application deadline: Monday, August 20, 2012

Latino Heritage Parade 2012

The 14^th annual Latino Heritage parade and jamaica in Pasadena will be on Saturday, 6 October 2012.

The parade will step out at 11:00 AM at Howard and Los Robles, and head down Los Robles to Washington Blvd. It will then head west to Raymond Ave and La Pintoresca Park.

The jamaica at La Pintoresca will follow from noon to 4:00 PM.
